Sheep in the midst of Wolves

Mathew 10:16

''Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.''

We are living in the world in which there are so many groups of people who are wolves, that is, they try to deceive us. As we know that normally wolves are very cunning (by nature) we need to be extra careful and be able to discern things. For this, we need to have Godly wisdom and not the wisdom of the world which will make us think that these wolves are also sheep, but WATCH OUT! Coz these are in sheep's clothing and have come to destroy us. Satan uses these wolves in this world to distract God's people from doing God's will. Therefore God asks us to be wise and watchful like serpents. Serpents are always watchful and are ready to attack anybody (i.e.) they are always ready with their sharp teeth.

   In our case, the sharp double edged sword(word of God) is our weapon against the enemy. So we can always be ready for any attack which comes against us with our sword. But at the same time Jesus asks us to be harmless as doves also, so we got to be polite and patient with everyone. We can be wise and get out of the situation instead of staying there and harming others and yourself. Even if we are attacked by several hundred wolves God will take care of it and we don’t need to think about what to say to them, what to do in that situation; the Holy spirit will put His word in our mouth and He will guide us, coz it is not who we are but it is the spirit of the one and only Holy God!.
